Meet the Owners

“Very helpful and friendly” is how visitors of Villa Pefki describe Marily & John, the owners of the apartments complex. Staying in their own apartment on the site, Marily & John like to treat visitors as friends and they always suggest places they have visited and enjoyed themselves.

They speak 4 languages (English, French, Italian and of course Greek) so there are big chances to communicate with them in your native or one of your spoken languages.
What’s for sure is that with them you will really enjoy what the Greeks call “filoxenia” and you will feel that staying in Villa Pefki is like being at home.

Feel free to ask them anything concerning your vacations in Crete, before, during or after your stay in Villa Pefki.

Marily & John look forward to meeting all of you who enjoy having quality vacations in wonderful places.

With love

Location

Agios Matheos is a wonderful suburb, quiet and very green, just a few minutes drive from the city of Chania.

Nearby you can find the village of Kounoupidiana, plenty of taverns, bakeries, pharmacies and supermarkets that can serve your everyday needs. Further along you can discover the lovely beaches of Kalathas, Stavros and Marathi, all on the Akrotiri peninsula where you can enjoy the beautiful Cretan sea and sun. If you are in a more adventurous mood don’t forget to visit Seitan Limania where, after the hill descent, you will be rewarded by the unique small beach with the crystal turquoise waters.

Take also advantage of the vicinity of our complex to the Venizeloi Tombs in order to take a walk and enjoy the breathtaking view of Chania especially during the sunset. Nearby you can find cafes with a panoramic view as well, where you can enjoy a coffee or drink. Just few minutes away you can visit the historical neighborhood of Chalepa with its old mansions.

Further along don’t miss the traditional quarter of Tampakaria where you can have the unique experience to eat fish just a step from the sea.
Of course you can always take a stroll around the atmospheric streets of the old Venetian port of Chania, plentiful of taverns, shops and cafes and discover the vivant new city spots.

Although it is possible to use taxis and the local bus service to get in and out of Chania, for your convenience, we do recommend car hire.
